Production and sale of herbal liqueur
The aromatic and medicinal herbs, as well as other types of fruit bushes such as blackcurrant, blueberries, raspberries, among others, are grown in a place called "La Creueta" in the village of Durro, located at 1,395 m above sea level, in a space of about 1,000 m2. In this way we can supply ourselves with our own products and continue to produce our liqueurs in the traditional way. We offer guided tours.
The Vall de Boí liqueur factory was founded in 2011 as a micro-enterprise for the artisanal production of herbal liqueur. This liqueur was already being made at the beginning of the 20th century, when grandmother Adela Pallejà from Granadella (Les Garrigues) taught it to her grandson Antonio. Adela was an animal skin muleteer and when she went on the roads she used to pick herbs and fruits she found to make her own herbal liqueur for family consumption. Around 1980, Antonio taught Jordi how to make it just as his grandmother had done since she was young. This is how it has survived to the present day.
